International Infection Status
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), from May 13, 2022 to June 8, 2022, Monkeypox has spread to the Americas, Eastern Mediterranean, Europe, and Western Pacific regions. Twenty-eight countries in the four regions have reported 1,285 confirmed cases and one suspected case to the World Health Organization. So far, no deaths have been reported in these four areas.
87% of these reported cases were from the European region (1112), as well as the Americas (153), the Eastern Mediterranean (14), and the Western Pacific (6). These four regions previously belonged to areas where Monkeypox is uncommon or where Monkeypox-related reports have never occurred.

From January 2022 to June 8, 2022, 1536 suspected cases and 72 deaths have been reported in 8 African countries. Six countries reported 59 confirmed cases during the same period.

The World Health Organization expects more Monkeypox cases to emerge as the surveillance area expands.
Monkeypox Diagnosis and Treatment Guide
The clinical presentation of cases in this Monkeypox outbreak varied. Common clinical manifestations of Monkeypox are fever, swollen lymph nodes, and a rash on the face and extremities. However, many cases in the current outbreak do not show the common clinical manifestations of Monkeypox, but only a few or single lesions.
Currently, laboratory testing methods for Monkeypox virus include General Testing and Etiological Testing:
1. General Testing
Peripheral blood leukocytes are normal or elevated, and platelets are normal or decreased. Some patients may have elevated transaminase levels, lower blood urea nitrogen levels, and hypoproteinemia.
2. Etiological Testing
(1) Nucleic acid detection: Monkeypox virus nucleic acid can be detected in specimens such as rash, blister fluid rash, blister fluid, crust, oropharyngeal or nasopharyngeal secretions.
(2) Virus culture: Monkeypox virus can be isolated by collecting the above specimens for virus culture.

Figure 2. Amplification plot of Monkeypox detection
Vazyme #QN213 was used to detect Monkeypox plasmid samples with different concentration gradients (10, 1, 0.1, 0.01 fg, respectively). The amplification plot shows that the amplification results are uniform and the sensitivity is high.
